Jones was also a member of the second-placed team for the 100-meter relay. In 2003 and 2004, Jones won the indoor hurdles event at the NCAA Championship. The track career after she completed her studies In 2005 Jones started to train hard for a track career. In the same year she also won her first Torino Memorial event, and in 2206, she won the Ostrava track event as well as the Heusden track event.

Brandt was born and raised in Cape Town, South African. Her family moved in Auckland New Zealand with her family in her teens.
